Johnson & Wales University is a world-class university with colleges of
business, hospitality and culinary arts, and a school of technology that
together offer scores of majors and degree programs at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level. Johnson & Wales' five domestic campuses are located in Providence, Rhode Island; Charleston, South Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; North Miami, Florida; and Denver, Colorado. In addition, J&W students have the opportunity for international study at the Göteborg, Sweden campus. Unique features include a 4-day school week, the opportunity to earn 2 degrees (associate and baccalaureate) in four years, and hands-on training at University-owned, -operated or partnership facilities or at worldwide co-op sites.
Career Development: is a prime focus of Johnson & Wales beginning with
the day you enroll. And this focus pays off: 98% of Johnson & Wales
graduates find employment in their chosen field within 60 days of receiving a
degree. The path to a career is a step-by-step journey and Johnson & Wales'
Office of Career Development is there every step of the way. We provide
services that include cooperative education, career planning and placement
activities for both students and alumni.
Accelerated Programs: If you've already got experience on your side,
J&W can offer you a faster route to your career goals. Our Advanced Standing
program allows you to complete work for an associate degree in Culinary
Arts in less than one calendar year and a bachelor's degree in less than
three. You pay one-third the amount of regular tuition during the summer term
and have an opportunity to enter the job market before others in traditional
two and four year programs. This program begins in June. For those who hold
a bachelor's degree and want to pursue a career in foodservice, the
Garnish Your Degree program is an accelerated, one-calendar-year program where
students earn an AS degree in Culinary Arts. All students start the
program together and take classes together as one cohesive group.
Non-traditional students who are looking for a career change typically enroll
in this program.
