Programs and Degrees

The purpose of The Art Institutes International Minnesota is to educate and train the current or future design- or business-related professional using quality educational programs created to instruct students in skills useful in everyday performance in the workplace. The school achieves this purpose using faculty who bring knowledge of the field from both education and work experience to their instruction. Students graduating from The Art Institutes International Minnesota can expect to be prepared to perform in their chosen field successfully.

The Art Institutes International Minnesota student is expected to attain an understanding of a body of theoretical and practical knowledge appropriate to his or her degree objective, in his or her chosen field. This understanding is demonstrated through measurable student learning outcomes specified in the outline of each course of each degree program. In The Art Institutes International Minnesota degree programs, students are not only expected to complete specific courses but also to develop critical and analytical learning abilities together with education values that contribute to lifelong learning.

Culinary Arts

Throughout the history of humankind, men and women have gathered together to prepare culinary feasts for simple nourishment and for celebration. Today is no different. (Unless you note that our ancestors were hunters and gatherers who barely sustained themselves, while we have created a food service industry in the billions of dollars.) Eating out has never been bigger. Consider that within the industry 76,000 managerial positions alone will need to be filled each year for the next 10 years. Then, you might want to consider the Culinary Arts program at The Art Institutes International Minnesota.

Program Objectives

The mission of the program is supported by the following objectives:

  • to provide insight and practical experience through industry
  • professionals in a business, creative and technical side of culinary
  • to reflect the philosophy, goals and objectives of The Art Institutes International Minnesota in keeping with the school's Mission Statement
  • to foster competent, professional, and ethical business practices as they relate to the culinary profession
  • to encourage community involvement and affiliation with field-related organizations
  • to offer classes of instruction that realistically prepare students for the job market
  • to provide insight and practical experience through industry professionals in a creative and technical aspects of culinary
  • to augment classroom education through internships that lend practical experience to theoretical learning
  • to provide counseling, guidance and motivation for students to make the transition from being a student to being a working industry professional.
