Offers associates degrees in both Culinary Arts and Hotel
and Event Management. Both courses require 90 quarter credits and take
approximately 60 weeks to complete.
Stratford College's culinary degree prepares students to meet the needs
of the culinary industry, focusing not only on culinary skills but on food
science, costing, and communication skills as well. This American
Culinary Federation accredited program starts students with the basics of knife
skills and sanitation and runs students through garde manger, entree
production, and pastry arts, among other subjects. Electives include
chocolate and sugar arts, international cuisine, and wine appreciation.
Stratford College teachers hospitality courses under the auspices of the
Hotel and Event Management program. Successful completion of specific
courses results in certificates from the American Hotel and Motel
Association and may qualify the student to become a Certified
Hospitality Supervisor.
COURSES:
Some of the courses include food and beverage management,
hospitality supervision, hospitality facilities management, and
hospitality law, just to name a few. The program trains students to work in a wide
range of jobs in the hospitality industry.
