Assistant Dining Room Manager

Morrison Management Specialists, a member of Compass Group, seeks an Assistant Dining Services Manager. The position is available at The Peninsula Regent, a senior community that offers elegant condominium living with all the amenities of a fine resort located in downtown San Mateo.

The Assistant Dining Services Manager assists the Dining Services Manager in ensuring a quality dining experience by overseeing dining room associates are well trained, knowledgeable about all menus and that all dining room associates are providing a high degree of hospitality and service, in accordance with The Peninsula Regent standards.

This position reports to the Director of Food and Beverage and is required to supervise other associate positions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

? Assists in providing quality food and an enjoyable dining experience for members and their guests
? Supervises, orientating, training, and counseling of all associates in accordance with the personnel policies of the community.
? Circulates in all dining areas, including Assisted Living, during dining hours to field Resident/guest comments pertaining to service and food quality. Immediately attempts to correct problems in these areas.
? Assists service associates during dining hours as needed.
? Resolves member concerns.
? Maintains a clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.
? Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all members, visitors and co-associates.
? Other tasks as assigned.

Catering:
? Consults with members and/or their families to plan details such as menu, number of persons expected, room arrangement/decoration.
? Coordinates with Chef, Dining Services Manager and other Department managers regarding scheduling, food and set-up needs for events.
? Directs workers in delivering food and beverages, preparation of event rooms, and clean up or breakdown of event rooms.
? Compiles information for member invoices and provides to Director of Food and Beverage for billing.
? Estimates requirements and places orders for linens, beverages, flowers or decorations, etc.
? Assures compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety.

Position Requirements
? Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
? Possess good communication skills, both oral and written.
? Computer proficient in Microsoft Office applications
? Ability to get along well with others, to demonstrate flexibility and patience, to work as a member of a team, and to demonstrate a high level of sensitivity and interest in people, particularly older adults.
? Must pass a criminal background check
