Weekly Beef Commentary

Boxed beef cutout values were generally steady on light demand and light to moderate offerings. With the holiday rapidly approaching, neither buyers nor packers seemed overly eager to move much product this week. Select and Choice rib, chuck and round complexes were steady to weak, while the loin primal saw modest gains. Fed cattle and blended grinds were steady to weak on light to moderate demand and offerings. Beef trimmings lower on light to moderate demand and moderate offerings.
