Weekly Poultry Commentary

Prices for whole broiler/fryers are unchanged and holding steady for next week’s trading. Offerings are light to moderate for full trade needs. Demand is light to moderate, yet movement into fast food channels and catering services were seasonally active. Transportation and production schedules in the Northeast return to normal following the snowstorm that affected the area. Processing schedules are lighter than normal due to Friday’s holiday. Market activity is slow. In the parts structure, trading is light to moderate and usually limited to regular commitments. Supplies of all items are moderate to heavy. Market activity for parts is slow. In production areas, live supplies are moderate at mostly desirable weights.
