Weekly Poultry Commentary

Prices Preliminary majority prices for whole birds are trending unchanged into the East and West, but unchanged to lower in the Midwest when compared to early week. Whole bird prices are steady to weak. Offerings are moderate to heavy with larger sizes in the longest balance. Demand into all channels is light to moderate at best entering the weekend. Floor stocks are moderate to closely balanced with purchasing limited to regular commitments. Market activity is slow to moderate. In the parts structure, demand is light to moderate. Prices are steady to firm for wings and tenders, cautiously steady for boneless skinless breasts, and steady for all other items. Supplies are light for wings and tenders, moderate to heavy for boneless skinless breasts, and sufficient for all other parts. Market activity for parts is light. In production areas, live supplies are moderate at mixed, but mostly desirable weights.
