Hi Jeff,
POS can be tricky. Often they are expensive and overly complicated. Just what you don't want or need! Below I have listed a few options. I have not personally used these, but have heard good things about all of them. As a side note, I would suggest looking at cloud based systems. Usually these offer less out of pocket expense and are good for independents because of their flexibility.
