Recognizing Opportunity
Ann Terry, Director of Purchasing, State of Missouri Department of Mental Health,
received a phone call from one of her colleagues about an advertisement seen in a trade
journal. It was an ad for Foodbuy. “I thought it sounded like a good deal and contacted
Foodbuy,” said Ann. It was the start of a profitable relationship.
Cost Savings
The State of Missouri Department of Mental Health has 17 locations serving over 3000
patients and employees three meals a day. “Whenever we see a chance to extend our
budget and get more value for our taxpayer’s dollar it’s worth a look”, said Ann. “We now
are purchasing from over 45 network manufacturers in the Foodbuy Purchasing Services
Program. We receive rebates from brand names like ConAgra, Ecolab, Lipton, Diamond
Crystal and Keebler. The great thing about the program is that it didn’t require us to
change our purchasing practices. I look for ways for our facilities to save money, and with
Foodbuy we have!”
"Our first rebate check was small at $500, but last month’s check was over $2,200."
"The program requires little work on our part and is working really well. We anticipate greater returns as we broaden our participation in the Foodbuy program."
The Foodbuy Advantage
Foodbuy works for the healthcare industry. Both single and multiple location operations
can extend their budgets with manufacturer rebate dollars. Healthcare operations can
save even more by participating in Foodbuy’s Performance Incentives Program.
